Medical student support
The TAFP Foundation supports the educational efforts of medical students by providing funding for FMIG activities, through travel funding to AAFP and TAFP meetings, and through the TAFP Foundation Scholarship program.

The Texas Family Medicine Interest Group Network is the state consortium of FMIG groups at medical schools across Texas. Along with the National FMIG Network, the Texas FMIG Network serves as a resource and as a champion for medical students of the family medicine specialty. Travel funding
The TAFP Foundation and its donors generously support students enrolled in Texas medical schools by providing travel funding for them to attend TAFP and AAFP events, including TAFP’s C. Frank Webber Lectureship and Interim Session Resident and Student Track in April, TAFP’s Annual Session and Primary Care Summit in November, and AAFP’s National Conference of Students and Residents in late July or early August. Medical student scholarships
Promoting and fostering interest in family medicine among our bright young students enrolled in Texas medical schools is essential to the future of our specialty. TAFP Foundation scholarships help ease the tremendous debt faced by today’s medical students. The scholarship list continues to grow each year thanks to the generous support of TAFP Foundation members.
