C. Frank Webber Lectureship and Interim Session is canceled
After careful consideration, TAFP leadership has decided to cancel the C. Frank Webber Lectureship and Interim Session along with all associated meetings. The health of our members, your patients, and your communities are our top priorities, and keeping you healthy and available to care for others is paramount.
TAFP will issue full refunds to all registrants over the next one to two weeks. If you made a hotel reservation to attend the conference, please contact the hotel at (512) 343-2626 to cancel.
At this time, we expect to host the Texas Family Medicine Symposium in San Antonio as planned, June 5-7, 2020. We will continue to monitor this evolving situation and we will quickly inform you of any changes.
Interim Session committee meetings
Your staff liaisons to committees, commissions, and sections will consult with your chairpersons and vice chairs to determine the best path for each body. Some will meet virtually through conference call or video conference while others may conduct necessary business via email. Watch for communications from TAFP staff for further instructions.
Family Medicine Leadership Experience
The April session of FMLE includes a Myers Briggs personality evaluation and keen insights on how to use that information about yourself and others to build the perfect team, as well as negotiation tactics to help make your team a success. We are currently investigating how best to deliver that content at another time or in another way this year, so stay tuned! We are committed to ensuring our FMLE participants have every opportunity to get the full experience.
Resident and Student Track
We are disappointed to cancel this meeting. There will still be an opportunity to run for elected positions. Watch for an email in the coming weeks with more information on how to run for a position and how the elections will be run. We hope you will consider attending AAFP’s National Conference in Kansas City.
TAFP Headquarters
TAFP staff may be working from home as we practice social distancing over the coming few weeks, so email is the best way to reach us with questions, although phone calls will be returned in a timely fashion. We are ready to answer your questions. TAFP staff contact information can be found on our Contact us page at https://www.tafp.org/about/contact.
