Going to TexFamMed? Here’s what you need to know

Thank you for registering for the 2017 Texas Family Medicine Symposium in San Antonio. We are looking forward to seeing you at this event. Here are some helpful tips to make your TexFamMed experience even better.

Registration Schedule
If you arrive on Thursday, June 1, you can check in at registration from 5-7 p.m. in the San Lorenzo Room on the lobby level.

Registration will open as scheduled on Friday, June 2, at 6:30 a.m., in the foyer of the San Antonio Ballroom. The conference begins Friday morning at 7 a.m. with our CME breakfast lecture.

To access TAFP registration and the general session from the lobby level of the hotel, follow the signs to the San Antonio Ballroom, one level below the lobby.

Please note:
Both KSA Workshops are SOLD OUT.
The KSA on Cerebrovascular Disease is being held on Friday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the KSA Workshop on Asthma is being held Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To verify whether you’re registered for a KSA Workshop, please call TAFP at (512) 329-8666.

Download the TAFP Conference App
Download the TAFP conference app before you arrive. The app includes the 2017 Texas Family Medicine Symposium schedule, CME evaluations with credit tracking, speaker information, exhibitors, and handouts at the touch of a finger.

Search “TAFP” in the app store or click tafp.gatherdigital.com/apps/2322 and install the app for free. If you have an Apple device, click the App Store icon. For Android devices, click the Play Store icon.

You will be required to log in to the app to access the conference information.

Syllabus Materials
You have access to course syllabus materials through the mobile conference app and at www.tafp.org/professional-development/tfms/cme. Individual PDFs of the slides and handouts are available as hyperlinks following each lecture title. The documents will be available from Tuesday, May 30, to Monday, June 19. If you would like a printed syllabus and did not pre-order a copy with your registration, a limited number will be available for purchase for $30 onsite. We recommend you arrive early to purchase a copy.

Attire
Attire for TexFamMed is business casual. TAFP encourages you to bring a jacket or sweater as temperatures in the meeting rooms can fluctuate.

Hotel Information
All TexFamMed events are held at the La Cantera Hill Country Resort, located at 16641 La Cantera Parkway in San Antonio. Directions to the hotel can be found here. Check-in for hotel guests at the La Cantera Hill Country Resort is available at 4 p.m. on your arrival date. Remember: Self-parking at the La Cantera Hill Country Resort is free and valet parking starts at $28 for overnight parking with in-and-out privileges.
