View pictures from the 63rd Annual Session and Scientific Assembly
About 400 family physicians and other health care providers gathered in Austin this July to learn, network, see old friends and make new ones, all while celebrating the specialty of family medicine at the 63rd Annual Session and Scientific Assembly. For your TAFP staff, this was a special Annual Session because it was held in our hometown, so we enjoyed recommending our favorite restaurants, coffee houses, and activities to any attendees who were interested.
We’ll have a full report for you in an upcoming edition of TAFP News Now, but in the meantime, check out this photo slideshow from the conference. You’ll see images of the Academy’s newly installed officers, our new president, Troy Fiesinger, M.D., taking his oath of office, our new parliamentarian and resident songstress, Tricia Elliott, M.D., entertaining the crowd at the TAFP Foundation Night of Art and Jazz, and a set of images from the President’s Party, held at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
AAFP President Glen Stream, M.D., M.B.I., joined us to address our board of directors, speak to all attendees of the general session, and to preside over the installation of officers at the Annual Awards and Business Lunch. You won’t want to miss seeing AAFP’s top doc sporting his new Hi Roller Hat, the traditional token of appreciation bestowed upon honored guests by the Texas chapter.
After being sworn in as president, Dr. Fiesinger delivered his presidential address. You can read his speech on his blog, Texas Family Doc.
One last note: after reliving all the fun from the 63rd Annual Session by flipping through the pictures, go ahead and get out your calendar. Next year’s conference will be in Fort Worth, July 31 – Aug. 4, 2013. Hope to see you there.
