President’s Party

Join us for a Mexican fiesta at the Grand Hyatt with Tejano music, salsa dancing, and great food. Bring the whole family for a dinner followed by some Tejano music and dancing as we celebrate TAFP’s outgoing president Clare Hawkins, M.D., M.Sc., and welcome incoming president T. Dale Ragle, M.D.

Member Assembly Luncheon

Join your colleagues to hear from TAFP volunteer leaders and have an opportunity to provide your feedback. TAFP officers will give an update on what the Academy is doing for you. Each local chapter will have delegates who can vote on any issues that come before the group and to elect Board members and other leaders. You’ll learn more about how you can get involved and you’ll have an opportunity to tell us what you think!

TAFP Foundation Cocktail Cruise benefiting the Student Interest Endowment
Thursday, July 24, 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Join your friends and colleagues on a cocktail cruise on the Paseo del Rio. Enjoy appetizers and cocktails as you cruise to support the Student Interest Endowment. Get your tickets for this special event for a special cause. All proceeds will benefit the Student Interest Endowment. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased when registering for Annual Session.

TAFP Business and Awards Lunch
Saturday, July 26, 12:15 - 2 p.m.

Enjoy an engaging address by outgoing TAFP President Clare Hawkins, M.D., M.Sc., and help him applaud TAFP’s finest as this year’s honorees for Physician of the Year, Physician Emeritus, and other awards are revealed. Also see the 2014-2015 TAFP officer installation and hear an address by incoming President T. Dale Ragle, M.D.

Members’ Reception

TAFP welcomes all members—especially new physicians, special constituency physicians, medical students, family medicine residents, and the 2014 TAFP award recipients—to meet and mingle with the family medicine family. There is no cost to attend the reception.

In the Exhibit Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about new products and services in the health care field, interact with professionals in all facets of health care, and receive valuable information on the latest advancements in medicine. Over 50 exhibitors from the medical industry will be on hand to show you the newest products and services available. While in the Exhibit Hall, don’t forget to thank our exhibitors for supporting TAFP’s 65th Annual Session and Scientific Assembly. During the opening breakfast, the TAFP Foundation Board of Trustees will help serve breakfast and answer any questions you have about the Foundation’s activities. The Exhibit Hall is conveniently located on the 2nd floor in the Lonestar Ballroom in the Grand Hyatt.

Student, Resident, and Community Physician Research Poster Competition

Support family medicine research as students, residents, and community physicians display the latest in research and teaching through poster-panel displays in three categories: primary research, case report, and evidence-based review. Posters will be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with awards given in various categories. Find more information here.
