TAFP members represent Texas at AAFP national conference

More than 200 family physicians, residents, medical students, and state chapter staff gathered in Washington, D.C., for AAFP’s Family Medicine Congressional Conference last week, April 7-8, 2014. Conference attendees learned about family medicine’s legislative priority issues and how to educate lawmakers on the importance of the specialty. While on Capitol Hill, the Texas representatives were able to advocate for family medicine while visiting a number of federal legislators’ offices including staff of Rep. Pete Gallego, D-Alpine, Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-San Antonio, and Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin.
