HHSC seeks members for the Electronic Health Information Exchange Advisory Committee

The Health and Human Services Commission seeks two new members to the Electronic Health Information Exchange Advisory Committee. The committee is charged with providing advice to HHSC on miscellaneous projects and programs relating to health information technology and health information exchange.
The committee meets during regular business hours on a quarterly or as-needed basis. Membership terms are four years.
Applications are due by 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. E-mail and fax applications are preferred. Download the application here; submission instructions are included on the application. Preference will be given to Texas residents.
Those who consider applying for membership to the committee are encouraged to take into account which of the following membership categories they would be most able to represent. In particular demand are consumer representatives of Medicaid/CHIP clients.
- Medicaid clients/CHIP enrollees, including consumer representatives
- Medicaid provider
- Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provider
- Fee-for-service provider
- Texas Health Services Authority
- Texas health and human services agency
- Major provider association
- Health-care facility
- Managed care organization
- Pharmaceutical industry
- Local or regional HIE
- Pediatric medical informatics
Committee appointments will be made in time for new members to attend the next committee meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, in Austin.
