Patient Resources Publishing offers TAFP members the opportunity to receive copies of the Patient Resource Cancer Guide free of charge and distribute it in their offices to newly diagnosed and newly restaged cancer patients. The guide was created to educate cancer patients, prepare them for treatment, and empower them to become their own advocates.
This comprehensive resource helps these patients and their families map the cancer journey. It includes a comprehensive list of cancer treatment facilities in the U.S. and detailed sections about treatment options, cancer types, clinical trials, and patient resources.
In addition to the general cancer guide, physicians may also order focused guides on leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma; breast cancer; colorectal cancer; lung cancer; prostate cancer; and melanoma. More guides focus on survivorship, treatment side effects, and cancer prevention for friends and family. Spanish editions will be available later this year.
An advisory board assists with editorial focus and ensures accuracy of the information presented. Members include well-known names from business and industry, opinion leaders from non-profit organizations, and respected medical doctors from the nation’s leading cancer treatment facilities. Editor-in-chief Charles M. Balch, M.D., F.A.C.S., oversees a team of seasoned medical writers to ensure editorial content is both accurate and engaging, and presented with a sensitive professionalism.
PRP publishes and distributes 500,000 copies of the Patient Resource Cancer Guide each year to cancer treatment facilities and doctor’s offices to give to their patients. To order copies of this and other free patient publications, go to www.patientresource.net/place-order.aspx.
