Sponsor an adolescent immunization program with TMA
posted 01.14.10
Are you involved with an adolescent health fair or immunization clinic in your community? If so, the Texas Medical Association would like you to consider partnering with them on an immunization pilot program.
TMA’s Be Wise – Immunize (sm) program wants to expand its immunization clinics to adolescents in 2010. A great way to do this is to pair immunizations with an existing event, such as a health fair or athletic physicals event.
Be Wise – Immunize offers tools for physicians, such as childhood and adolescent immunization toolkits and educational materials for patients in English and Spanish.
To find out more, contact Tammy Wishard, TMA’s outreach coordinator, at (800) 880-1300, ext. 1470, or tmaoutreachcoordinator@texmed.org. Or visit the Be Wise website: www.texmed.org/bewise.
TMA physicians launched the Be Wise – Immunize program in 2004 to boost Texas’ immunization rates. To date, program volunteers have administered more than 156,000 shots to Texas children.
Be Wise – Immunize is a registered service mark of the Texas Medical Association.
