Welcome Home Alumni Reception
Hosted by UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine

Thursday, Nov. 9, 6 – 8 p.m.

Join your fellow classmates, faculty, and university administration at the Welcome Home Alumni Reception. The reception will be held on the second floor of the Galveston Convention Center. This a chance for you to reconnect, network, and mingle before the conference begins. RSVP to be sure your name is included on the list.

Member Assembly Luncheon
Friday, Nov. 10, 11:45 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Join your colleagues to hear from TAFP volunteer leaders and have an opportunity to provide your feedback. Each local chapter will have delegates who can vote on any issues that come before the group and to elect Board members and other leaders. Reception in Exhibit Hall
Join our exhibitors for a reception!
Friday, Nov. 10, 5 – 6 p.m.

In the Exhibit Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about new products and services, interact with professionals in all facets of health care, and receive valuable information on the latest advancements in medicine. Also, members of the TAFP Foundation Board of Trustees will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the Foundation’s activities. Cash bar and food will be provided.


TAFP Foundation Seafood Dinner
Friday, Nov. 10, 6:30 p.m.

Support the TAFP Foundation at an exclusive dinner at Galveston’s renowned Fisherman’s Wharf. Proceeds will go to the TAFP Foundation Research Endowment. Space is limited. Tickets are $75 each.


Student, Resident, and Community Physician Research Poster Competition
Friday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Support family medicine research as students, residents, and community physicians display the latest in research and teaching through poster-panel displays in three categories: primary research, case report, and evidence-based review. Posters will be on display from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and awards will be given in various categories.

TAFP Business and Awards Lunch
Saturday, Nov. 11, 12:15 — 2 p.m.

Enjoy an engaging address from outgoing TAFP President, Tricia Elliott, MD, and help her applaud TAFP’s finest as this year’s honorees for Physician of the Year, Physician Emeritus, and other awards are revealed. Also see the 2017-2018 TAFP officer installation and hear an address from incoming President Janet Hurley, MD.


Members’ Reception
Saturday, Nov. 11, 5:30 – 6:45 p.m.

TAFP welcomes all members — especially new physicians, special constituency physicians, medical students, family medicine residents, and the 2017 TAFP award recipients — to meet and mingle. There is no cost to attend the reception.

Join us for a dinner cruise on the Galveston Island Bay as we welcome incoming President Janet Hurley, MD. Casual attire is recommended for this event.
