UTHSCSA faculty and TAFP member appointed to Association of Departments of Family Medicine board of directors

Carlos R. Jaén, M.D., Ph.D., of San Antonio was elected to serve as member-at-large to the Association of Departments of Family Medicine’s board of directors. As the junior member-at-large, Jaén will be appointed to the finance committee. His term will run through 2010.

Jaén is the Dr. John M. Smith Jr. Professor and Chair of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio’s Department of Family and Community Medicine.

The mission of the Association of Departments of Family Medicine, which is administered by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, is to promote the interests of family medicine in medical schools around the United States and further the administration and operation of family medicine academic departments. It brings together 135 departments of family medicine nationally.
