TAFP and AAFP release resources
on ACOs and practice affiliation

posted 04.12.11

Movement on the national and state levels is transforming the way medicine is practiced and paid for, and AAFP, TAFP, and five other state chapters want to arm you with the resources you need to navigate this changing health care system. TAFP is proud to launch two resources to help family physicians explore accountable care organizations, analyze the trends toward collaboration and affiliation, and develop a strategy that is right for their practice.

The two guides, The Family Physician’s ACO Blueprint for Success and The Family Physician’s Practice Affiliation Guide, can be found in the practice resources section of TAFP’s website. Read more about CMS’s new ACO guidelines released on March 31, and more about what the guides have to offer at www.tafp.org/news/stories/11.04.04/aco-guidelines.

Interested in taking control of these new delivery and payment models? Save the date for a payment reform summit in Texas on Oct. 1, 2011. TAFP is working to gather family physicians who are leading the way under these new models so their colleagues can learn what these leaders have done, what they’re doing, and where they see the health care system moving in the future. You’ll be able to cull best practices from their experiences to tailor a plan that suits your practice’s needs. TAFP will send out more details as they become available.
