Sign up for Physician of the Day in April and May

Seven spots remain this session

posted 04.04.11

It is not too late to volunteer as a Physician of the Day during the 82nd Texas Legislature. Many spots are still available in April and May.

It is very important to ensure that a TAFP-member family physician fills this post on each convening day of the legislative session as it has since the program began in 1971. Not only does the Physician of the Day provide an important service to legislators, their staffs, their families, and any other visitor to the Texas Capitol if need arises, this physician also reinforces the specialty’s role as the foundation of a strong health care system and represents the compassionate nature of family physicians.

The Physician of the Day staffs the Capitol Health Clinic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. along with Tim Flynn, RN, NP. Dates currently available include:

April 8, 12, 15, and 29

May 10, 16, and 30

Sign up by filling out the Physician of the Day form on the TAFP website, or by contacting Anna Jenkins by phone at (512) 329-8666 ext. 31 or by e-mail at ajenkins@tafp.org. Find the most up-to-date calendar of remaining dates on the Physician of the Day page of the TAFP website, www.tafp.org/advocacy/get-involved/physician-of-the-day.
