CDC releases new immunization schedules, ACIP general recommendations
posted 02.10.11
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new immunization schedules for children and adults, as well as the general recommendations on immunization from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
Each year, ACIP reviews the immunization schedules to make sure they reflect current recommendations for the licensed vaccines. The childhood and adult schedules include matrices of recommendations by vaccine and age group. Access the new childhood schedule here, or download a summarized childhood schedule “at a glance” here. Access the adult schedule here.
The new general recommendations on immunization replace and update the recommendations published in the 2006 ACIP statement. It also includes updated information on adult vaccination, strategies to increase vaccination rates, the link of vaccination services to those of the WIC program, adolescent immunization, and combination vaccines. Access the new general recommendations on immunization here.
