Attend TMLT’s 2013 spring seminars
Texas Medical Liability Trust hosts two spring seminars this year, both entitled, “TMB Rules You May Not Know – But Should.” The 2.5-hour interactive program is intended for physicians of all specialities who are interested in ways to reduce the potential for TMB complaints. The seminar will be held in San Antonio on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, and Dallas on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Follow this link for more information and to register.  
AHRQ resources for treatment of various conditions
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality developed resources for both physicians and patients to help improve health care quality. AHRQ worked with the Effective Health Care Program to create effectiveness and comparative effectiveness research for clinicians, consumers, and policymakers. There are also searchable clinician and patient guides on numerous topics available in both English and Spanish.  
Health information exchange toolkit available to rural physicians
A new toolkit on health information exchange for rural providers was recently released by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. The resource includes details on joining or establishing an HIE and possible costs and savings when doing so. For more on the toolkit and to download it, see this Healthcare IT News story.  
Prepare to implement ICD-10 with these CMS tools
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced that they will not delay the Oct. 1, 2014 implementation date for ICD-10, a new code set that will greatly increase the number of diagnosis codes used by health care professionals. To aid physicians in the transition, CMS also updated its list of resources to now include timelines and checklists for practices of all sizes. Get those resources here.  
Report CME quickly and easily with AAFP
