Lower your vaccine costs with Atlantic Health Partners
TAFP vaccine purchasing partner Atlantic Health Partners, www.atlantichealthpartners.com, offers a new program that enables physicians to provide vaccines to most Medicare Part D patients. Atlantic already offers members low prices on Sanofi and Merck vaccines. Now with the TransactRx program, family physicians can provide vaccines like Zostavax (available from Merck) and Adacel (Tdap) to Medicare patients and bill directly to Part D. The program provides easy online access to patient-specific Part D vaccine coverage, real-time co-pay cost and reimbursement information, and electronic claims submission for Part D vaccines. TAFP partnered with AHP in January 2008 to save family physicians money when purchasing vaccines. There is no cost for TAFP members to enroll in the program and enrollment is voluntary. For more information, contact Jeff or Cindy at info@atlantichealthpartners.com or (800) 741-2044.

Access influenza resources at Flu.gov
The winter months can be the most wonderful time of year … unless your holiday sharing includes communicable diseases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourages physicians to continue vaccinating patients to prepare for the peak flu months, January and February, especially patients in high-risk groups. Physicians can educate themselves and their patients about the flu vaccine through Flu.gov, which provides comprehensive government-wide information on seasonal flu, H1N1, H5N1, and pandemic influenza. The health professional page presents guidance, checklists, and information to help physicians prepare in planning and responding to flu outbreak.
