Feds approve primary care pay hikes for Texas Medicaid
Payments begin January 2014, but physicians must complete form to be eligible

Good news! The Medicaid fee increases promised in the Affordable Care Act will start rolling in next month. If you complete the attestation form before April 1, 2014, you’ll receive retroactive payment for claims back to Jan. 1, 2013. Check out this story for more information and the link to the form.

Physicians examining truck drivers must now be certified
A new rule requires physicians to be certified according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to examine interstate truck drivers. Doctors wishing to continue these exams must take a FMCSA course and complete the test by May 21, 2014. TAFP is helping to put on a course in Fort Worth next February.
