HHSC introduces electronic learning tools on EHR incentive program
Texas Medicaid has launched a new e-learning tool to assist Texas physicians and hospitals interested in the EHR incentive program with learning more about the basics and details related to program eligibility, patient volume, meaningful use, steps to participate in the program, the attestation portal, and resources for more information. A user-friendly system, it includes narration, closed captioning, and the ability to skip around to the topics you are most interested in. more...

Entering college students must get meningitis vaccine
Educate them with new DSHS website
New legislation passed last session requires all incoming college and university students to be vaccinated against bacterial meningococcal disease. Help your adolescent patients navigate the college-entry requirements through a new website created by the Texas Department of State Health Services Immunization Branch, in consultation with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The site explains the requirements, how to obtain the vaccine, how to show proof of vaccination, information on bacterial meningitis, and how to apply for an exemption.
