CAPITOL UPDATE: Physicians testify against independent practice for nurse practitioners
When three scope bills were raised in the House Public Health Committee in the wee hours of the morning, TAFP member Tricia Elliott, M.D., of Galveston and Texas Pediatric Society member Gary Floyd, M.D., of Fort Worth were there to testify against expansion of APRNs’ scope of practice. Meet April’s Member of the Month, Loren S. Lasater, M.D., a family physician who joined the U.S. Army Reserve to care for soldiers serving abroad and in the United States. Enhance your Annual Session education with the SAM workshop
Attention ABFM diplomates: Earn 12 additional credits of CME and make progress toward your Maintenance of Certification process by attending TAFP’s Self-Assessment Module Group Study Workshop on Health Behavior Wednesday, July 27. Attendees will discuss and complete the knowledge assessment portion of the module at the workshop, and will be eligible to complete the clinical simulation online after.
